Chelas brings true, traditional Mexican food to the heart of Stockholm, served by a passionate international team dedicated to delivering an authentic dining experience. We seek a motivated Sous Chef who can join our dynamic and international kitchen as soon as possible.
Key responsibilities:
Inventory and orders: Maintain balanced stock levels of kitchen ingredients, ensuring that we prioritize quality, price, and freshness. Monitor seasonal changes in customer demand to adjust stock and orders accordingly. Organize all stored ingredients and supplies, following “First In, First Out” principles for optimal freshness and efficiency.
Supplier management: Work with various suppliers to find the best quality products at competitive prices for our kitchen.
Quality and efficiency: Motivate staff to work promptly, cleanly, and effectively in all kitchen production areas, from recipe preparation to plating, while adhering to our restaurant standards and health protocols. Ensure that all necessary setups and production tasks are completed on time for each service.
Communication: Keep open lines of communication with the Head Chef, Front of House, and Management. This includes promptly reporting any issues, such as delivery problems, equipment malfunctions, or procedural uncertainties, to maintain smooth operations. Effective communication is essential.
Are you the person we are looking for?
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role, in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Culinary knowledge: Familiarity with Mexican cuisine is a strong advantage.
Team leadership: Demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills and sets a strong example in teamwork, responsibility, and integrity.
Positive culture: Actively fosters a positive and productive kitchen culture that aligns with Chelas’ values.
Language: Fluency in English is a must, and Spanish language skills are a plus.
